Upcoming Events:

SUMMER PICNIC WITH AGAPE CHURCH: Coming August 17th, between the end of Vineyard’s celebration (11:30) and the start of Agape’s celebration (3 p.m.) The picnic will be potluck-style, so please sign up in the lobby to indicate what dish you can bring. Please mark your calendars and stay tuned for more details.

LEADERS MEETING: Thursday evening, September 4th (time and location TBD, but somewhere 7ish-8:30ish, and possibly in the new Youth Center) for all current circle 3 leaders who participated in the Leadership 201 class last fall. We will be talking about plans for the fall as well as discussing existing leadership opportunities. It is not currently clear if childcare will be available, so please consider making arrangements for care for your children offsite if possible.

CHURCH CAMPOUT IN SEPTEMBER! Mark your calendars for September 12th & 13th for the church campout at Indian Creek Campground in Tecumseh. We had a blast last spring and hope to again in September. Even if you aren't a camper, you can come for just the day on Saturday, Sept. 13th and enjoy fellowship with other members. If you are interested in helping with the campout or have questions, please contact Kim Kimbrell (734) 439-3769. Details to follow.

THE CAUSE CONFERENCE: Sept. 26th-27th at the Royal Oak Vineyard in downtown Royal Oak, MI. For risk-taking young adults and the young at heart who are willing to search their soul about church planting, working for justice or simply joining with Jesus in his cause to change the world. The conference will be Friday night and all day Saturday, with minimal cost. More info at www.thecauseconference.com.

VINEYARD 101: (September 28th-October 19th) is a 4-week experience designed to help newcomers connect to the life of the church. It’s a great chance to get to know other people who are new to the church and to help you figure out if the Vineyard Church might be a place to call home. Vineyard 101 meets on 4 consecutive Sundays, beginning Sunday, September 28th, from 1-3pm, in the Ministry Center across the street from the church. Childcare is available for younger children during the class sessions. If you’d like to bring a bagged lunch to eat with other participants, the Ministry Center will be open between the end of the Sunday morning celebration and the start of Vineyard
101 each week. Session materials, childcare, and light snacks are provided for free to all Vineyard 101 participants. Vineyard 101’s 4 sessions cover topics ranging from “Why Church?” to “What Do We Believe?” to “What Are Our Values?” to “How Do I Get Involved?” Each week includes a mix of teaching, discussion, videos, and time for personal connection. Vineyard 101 is open to everyone interested in exploring what the Vineyard Church of Milan is all about, and is a requirement for anyone interested in joining the church as a new member.

Ministry News:

COMPASSION MINISTRY
On Saturday mornings, guests come to the church’s ministry center (across the street) for food, clothing, and prayer. Most of the resources for this ministry are provided through the generous giving of people in the church and other area
churches. Anyone is welcome to come serve.

JULY 26: We served 89 households representing 321 souls and provided 5,029 lbs of goods. Fourteen households were new to the ministry this week. Monroe County provided 38 of our households, Washtenaw 41, Wayne 9, and Delta (UP) 1.

Children's Ministry:

NEW HERE? WELCOME! We are so glad you are here with us today. We hope you will find this helpful:

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these”.

The Nursery (birth-walkers) and Tiny Tot (1-2 years old) classes are located downstairs and are available throughout the service. We also have a room just off the lobby, set aside for nursing mothers that is available throughout the service as well.

All children entrusted to our care this morning will need to have a registration card filled out. These cards may be found downstairs at the sign in tables for those that are 3 years old-5th grade or in their classrooms for those in the Nursery or Tiny Tot rooms. The cards may be filled out and returned to the teacher or the monitor at the time you drop off your child.

To ensure security, the monitor for the day will take a picture of you with your child to go on your registration cards. (This helps us to know who belongs to whom!)

Children 3 years old—5th grade are dismissed to their classes after worship (music). We would like all children in 3rd grade or younger to be escorted by their parents. You are always welcome to join them and check out what cool things are happening downstairs!

ALL children must be picked up from their classrooms by the parent
or guardian pictured on the registration card immediately after
the service.
